Agile Professional Badge

Lightbox Coaching certifies that a bearer of the "Agile Professional" badge has completed the necessary course material, and therewith attained foundational understanding of Kanban and Scrum, and is prepared to add value to your team in the following capacity:

  • They are able to determine, and to help others determine, if and when agile is the right approach
  • They are able to decide and explain which agile method to choose, and why
  • They are able to identify gaps  and make recommendations on how an organization can create conditions for success in becoming more agile
  • They are able to help a team adopt Kanban at a rudimentary level 
    • able to conduct the duties of a Scrum Master
    • able to help a team visualize work using a Kanban board
    • able to help a team realize performance improvements by limiting work in progress
    • able to help a team use explicit policies to optimize the flow of work
    • able to use classes of service and types of work to prioritize work on a Kanban board
  • They are able to help a team adopt Scrum at a rudimentary level 
    • able to facilitate the Scrum events with discipline and purpose
    • able to help a team slice larger initiatives into smaller MVPs
    • able to advise in instituting and advancing a Product Owner position
  • They are able to help any team make incremental performance improvements using retrospectives

Note that all our courses are taught in live, small class sizes with very high emphasis on helping participants contextualize the learnings in their specific environments. We accomplish this through discussions, exercises, and a unique-to-us emphasis on the underlying "why's" and by providing examples from various IT and non-IT industries. Further, we verify that our students in fact meet the Learning Objective through in- and out-of- class assessments.
